I'm baaaaaccccckkkkkk...

from a long hiatus that is!  4 months is a long time for me to be gone, but I just haven't gotten much done except getting through each day.  This past month has me working less since school is out, and my retail job has less hours too, so I feel I am breathing again.  And indulging in my favorite pastimes, dreaming up and creating.  Even my craft room finally got a much needed cleaning and now that I can see table tops, I can begin anew.

Because it is summer, it is the time for working outdoors, and my garden has really been ablaze, even with the recent drought.  Recent storms have caused alot of new blooms, and my roses have grown huge this year!

I haven't been too creative until very recently.  I got out my broken china box that I store on the back patio and bought a crockery saucer to replace the broken bird bath (the lonely pedestal in the first pic on right)  I had lost in another storm some years ago.  I went ahead and sketched out my idea, and then just plunged in.  Here are a few steps so far, and grouting will follow in a few days.

I am anxious to provide something for the birds that is not cholorinated like our pool water.
(August 5th) I am editing this previous post, so I can post the finale pics.

I so miss wasting time with Pinterest and my Reader, but I now own an Iphone, so I will be hopefully accessing my "goodness" pages wherever I am, instead of chained to a computer. I have a few days off in a row, so hubby and I are planning a little short getaway.  More on this soon, but we are celebrating our 34th next weekend.  We always enjoy marking the occasion with something special, and we are going ahead without an agenda and drum roll -.without kids....something we don't do very often.  Looking forward to it!

And because it is 4th of July today, I had daughter make a little patriotic dessert, that she is testing...

We just came back from our fireworks, they were fab again this year, and so fun to share with our little community.  Happy 4th wherever you are!  Please post comments and or links!
